Full In-House Laboratory

Quarryside Animal Hospital is pleased to have a laboratory in our hospital.

We are able to perform many diagnostic tests quickly and efficiently in it. We can do many simple tests but are also able to offer some more complex ones, too! We are able to run heartworm tests, leukemia and FIV tests, and full blood work for those who are interested in it. There are also many other tests we offer our patients.

Our Lab’s Benefits

The best part of being able to run laboratory tests in our hospital is that we can diagnose your pets much sooner than if we had to send the blood work out to another laboratory. Whenever your pets are not feeling well, we can offer you results and a diagnosis in minutes instead of making you wait a day (or more) for the results.

Knowing what is wrong with your pets quickly allows us to start treatment sooner so they can get back to normal as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to make your pets as comfortable as possible. We pride ourselves on helping pets as fast as possible!

If your pets are sick, we would love to be able to give you answers much sooner than you might expect. We make it our goal to get your pets feeling better as quickly as we can.

Don’t hesitate to contact us today if you have any questions or concerns about our in-house laboratory.

Types of Testing We Offer

Quarryside Animal Hospital has the capability to perform various blood tests, pre-anesthetic bloodwork, and other types of testing on site instead of sending samples to an outside lab. This saves time, money, and most importantly, you don’t have to wait overnight for results—meaning your pet gets a diagnosis and needed treatment sooner.

Testing provided in the hospital includes:

Chemistry Panels:

  • Liver enzyme screening
  • Pancreatic evaluation
  • Renal (Kidney) profiles

Wellness screenings:

  • Complete blood counts
  • General chemistries
  • Blood gases
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal testing (parasites)
  • Blood pressure

 Viral screenings:

  • FelV, FIV in cats
  • Parvovirus in dogs

While we do offer an extensive range of on-site testing, it is possible that your pet may need laboratory work beyond our scope. For those cases, we are happy to send blood work or other testing to an outside lab that will send results back to us.
